Black and Decker has a very good name when it comes to cooking appliances. They are not very expensive but give you very good quality and reliability for a very reasonable price. In fact Black and Decker has become synonymous with cooking appliances in a number of households and you will find that almost all their cooking is done on Black and Decker.

Their waffle makers are not one of their biggest range. They have only two options that you can choose from, their large Belgian waffle maker, and their multipurpose, waffle and griddle maker. Both of them are very good and it is up to you which one you want to go with. Both these models are reviewed below for your convenience.

Black & Decker PD400LG

WMB 500 Belgian waffle maker

This is their Belgian waffle maker model. They come in only one size and also do not have the option of having a two in one model like other manufacturers offer. It is constructed of sturdy stainless steel, and has non-stick cooking plates which is pretty much standard across the board. It also has a ready indicator light which lets you know that the waffle maker is ready for use. Everything about the model is average and you don't even get temperature settings which means that you have to burn a few waffles before you get it right. It however costs only which is half what other manufacturers charge for theirs. It is a very good deal if all you want is a simple waffle maker that you can keep pretty much forever.

G48TD Grill, Griddle & Waffle

This model is their multipurpose model and you can use the same machine to make waffles and then with a simple flip turn it into a griddle to make eggs and bacon. The cooking plate is detachable and comes with the non stick coating on both sides. One side has the pockets that allow you to make waffles, although they will be the more traditional kind and does not have deep pockets. Like the earlier model, this one is large, and if you want a smaller waffle, you just pour in less of the batter.

Once your waffles are done, you just detach the cooking plates and turn them over. This side has the griddle on which you can make your eggs and bacon, toast your bread and cook pretty much whatever else you want for breakfast. This detachable cooking plate is available on both sides of the machine which means that you actually have a double stove so to speak. It also has runners along the sides so that oil from the food flows away. The detachable cooking plates also make it easy to wash.

Black and Decker makes very good cooking appliances, and the waffle maker is just like the rest of their products. Very good quality, but simple and offering you what you need without any frills.
